HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Operation not permitted

Bonjour,

I have some problem to read dvd with xine under FC kernel 2.6.11-1.14_FC3.
According to xine-check, I have to try: hdparm -d1 -X34 /dev/hdc

But the answer is:

/dev/hdc:
 setting using_dma to 1 (on)
 HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Operation not permitted
 setting xfermode to 34 (multiword DMA mode2)
 using_dma    =  0 (off)

What is the reason? And what can I do to solve the problem?
