Hi everyone,
i have installed nagios 1.2 for testing purposes and there is an error
shown in the web interface which is shown as follows:

Whoops! Error: Could not read host and service status information!
and on Event-log: Error: Could not open log file '/var/log/nagios/nagios.log' for reading!

- nagios -v has 0 errors and 0 warnings
- no errors in nagios.log service is up and running

> id -a nagios uid=100(nagios) gid=101(nagios) groups=101(nagios),501(nagioscmd)
> id -a apache uid=48(apache) gid=48(apache) groups=48(apache),501(nagioscmd)

chown -R nagios:nagioscmd /var/log/nagios
chmod -R 777 /var/log/nagios
drwxrwxrwx 4 nagios nagioscmd 4096 Apr 26 11:24 nagios

It seems to be an permission problem, but i am not able to find it out.........
Any help would be greatly apreciated.
Best regards
Uwe
