The syslog message are only one:

Apr 20 21:38:57 sdg01 kernel: usb 4-1: new full speed USB device using
uhci_hcd and address 5

After read your post, I had recompiled my kernel and the message is the same.

Is there any util (as usbview) to provide you some usefull info?

/sbin/lsusb cat /proc/bus/usb/devices

Alexander

You the spca5xx driver to use that camera. From it's release notes:

"Currently, the following cameras are supported by this driver: ... {USB_DEVICE (0x041e, 0x401f)}, /* Creative Webcam Notebook PD1171*/"

The driver is available at http://mxhaard.free.fr/download.html. You'll
need to bugger your /etc/hotplug/usb.usermap file to make it autoload.
Here are the lines you need to add:

# Creative WebCam Notebook PD1171
spca5xx 0x0003 0x041e 0x401f 0x0000 0x0000 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00000000
