I am currently running Mandrake 9.1 alomgside Windows XP Home Edition on my single hardrive. I am using a Lilo bootloader without any problems. However I am now looking to change from Mandrake over to FC3.

I have just acquired a DVD Download version of FC3 but am anxious re the change over to the Grub bootloader as I know there have been problems with FC2 post-installs and not being able to boot into Windows afterwards. For this reason I have held off installing my FC3 until I get some advice.

Can anybody tell me wether this dual boot problem has been ironed out in FC3?

It's fixed in FC3.

Also any other tips you can give me or pitfalls to look out for - Thanks.

If you're happy with LILO, you could have the FC3 installer put grub in the FC3 root or boot partition (rather than the MBR) and then configure your existing LILO (assuming you're keeping the Mandrake installation as well as Windows when you install FC3) to call up grub from the FC3 partition to boot FC3.

If you intend to get rid of Mandrake, I'd just switch to grub in the MBR.

Paul.
