I'm using xterm and for xterm you can set in ~/.Xressources: xterm*foreground: grey xterm*background: black
I don't seem to have this file on my system.
Do I just create it? Or is there a global file I should edit as opposed to my own in ~?
Just create it if it doesn't exist. But make sure you spell the filename exactly right.
It should be: ~/.Xresources Not: ~/.Xressources
