When you provide a driver disk during installation, the installer copies
the driver on to the installed system (provided the disk provides a
driver for the installed kernel, which might be an SMP kernel) so that
it can boot. So that shouldn't be a problem, though you'll need to make
sure the driver gets built or is installed for any subsequent kernel
updates.
