Thanks for the info Just got the j2re from dag's site using synaptic but when I test it out on a java site firefox crashes completely....Wonder if anyone else has this problem ??
Yep. I get it as well. I was experiencing a similar issue with Sun's RPM for 1.5.0 or whatever the latest was. Firefox refused to open with the 1.5.0 plugin symlinked. When I got the 1.4.2 from he DAG repo, I got Firefox to open to my homepage (Slashdot) but going to a site with Java (Noggin.com) Firefox dies very badly. It seems I cannot get any Java plugin to work with Firefox now.
The best source for Java for FC is jpackage.org. A bit of a learning curve, but it generally works much better than the Sun RPMs.
