Just tried it however it just opened up a prompt for grub. ( grub> ) and
it didn't work, anymore suggestions?

where did you tell the installer to put your bootloader?
It looks like you asked for it to be put on your /boot FS rather than
the root
of your fixed disk.
I would try reinstalling GRUB in rescue mode...
1. boot from CD1
2. type linux rescue <enter>
3. if all goes well and there are no complaints from the mount
processes, 
chroot into your installed system...
chroot /mnt/sysimage
4. at this point, try 
grub-install /dev/hda (or sda or whatever your actual boot device is)

if this works without any grief, try booting from your HDD again
