Is there an easy way to have updatedb run when cron tells it to but NOT at some random DVD buffer underrun coaster making time when it was powered off at cron time?
Probably from a script that checks to see if there is a burn process underway. Of course this won't work if the burn starts after the updatedb starts.
How about changing the "nice" for updatedb.
