Custom kernel and FC3

Hi guys,

Sorry - I've posted before, but I'm trying again.

I've got a custom built kernel (2.6.11) with no VGA access - I access
it via the console port.

The shipped fedora kernels work fine, but a custom built one doesn't :(

It fails at boot time with:
> kjournald starting. Commit interval 5 seconds
> EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode.
> VFS: Mounted root (ext3 filesystem) readonly.
> Freeing unused kernel memory: 332k freed
> Warning: unable to open an initial console.

 - and then it freezes. I've parsed the same kernel parameters as when
booting the shipped FC3 kernel. Do you have any ideas to what might be
wrong?
I've gotten a hint about block devices being the problem, but a
re-compile doesn't work :(

Got any ideas?

Thanks
