Hi there,
an early version of Oo had a converter for Lotus 123 files but I
understand that it was ommitted in later versions. I do think that
StarOffice maintain such converter but I am not sure.

The current version of 123 or Lotus SmartSuite is able to save as excel
files which again can be opened in Oo.

Personally I prefer Lotus to excel and do not consider 123 to be "unmodern".
