Try 'lspci' look at '/etc/sysconfig/hwconf' (shows if detected)I installed xine. I can play video files but can not hear sound. How do I find out my sound card is detected and working fine? I am using on-board sound in my MSI mother board.
Then run '/usr/bin/alsamixer' and set the sliders also unmute any slider. (If detected)
Then run 'system-config-soundcard' (checks soundcard is working)
