Subject: Can I recover a modprobe.conf from the running list of modules?

The subject says it all, eh?

I'm a dope...I deleted my modprobe.conf file...and all backup copies, too

I'm trying to find a way to regenerate my modprobe.conf, from the
currently running modules. Is thre a way to do so?

Help.

I really need to learn not to use my computer in the morning.

Rename /etc/sysconfig/hwconf and then run:

/etc/rc.d/init.d/kudzu start

It will regenerate it your modprobe.conf and /etc/sysconfig/hwconf. In my case, I needed to add "alias net-pf-10 off" to /etc/modprobe.conf back in to turn off ipv6.
