I just compiled and installed postgresql-8.0.1 on FC3. Does anyone have a script I can use for starting and stopping the postgresql server at boot time/shutdown?

Thanks

Bob

The script to start the postgesql server is located in /etc/rc.d/init.d/postgresql. You can turn it on with service postgresql on as root.

This would be true if I had installed the Fedora-supplied RPM package for postgresql-server (I believe the latest packages are still in version 7.4.x.) But my work is with version 8.0.1 compiled from a source tarball that was downloaded from postgresql.org.
