I'm trying to get an Epson Stylus C86 to work with Fedora 3.
I have an HP 1200 working off the parallel port and I want the Epson to
work off the USB.

I've got gimp-print and foomatic installed.

When I use the browser utility of CUPS to install the printer and print
a test page, I just get a few characters printed on several pages.

I'm not sure what to try next.

Help?

Take a look at the Linuxprinting site.

I run FC2 so I'm not familiar with the workings of FC3. There should be a Gnome or Kde print configuration utility available in FC3, though, that might produce must better result than relying on the CUPS web administration tool. On installing FC2 and trying to set up my own printing, I found that the CUPS adminstration interface was not linked to (did not interface with) the foomatice database installed on my system. The Gnome print configuration tool had no difficulty finding and installing the driver(s) I needed.
