--   you could do this 
Go to wwww.freshrpms.net   Download  apt  
install the apt RPM  then open the terminal Switch to Root ( su -) type this in 
  apt-get update
when it is done    type in this  

apt-get install mplayer    

when it is all done   

type in gmplayer
