But must we create this file to confgure the NIS service or no. Is it
necessary?

To set your NIS domain, edit your /etc/sysconfig/network file and make sure you have a line like

	NISDOMAIN=whatever

in it.  That's how it's done.  For more details, have a look at the
/etc/rc.d/init.d/ypbind startup script.
