That's the funny part... I looked at the camera specs, and it actually has a USB port, which I assume it's 2.0. There's no mention of FireWire at all!

My mistake! It does. It has USB just for transferring still pictures, and the Firewire (1394) for video transfer. Sorry.

which camera?

It's a Panasonic PV-GS9 Digital Video Camcorder.
