It works a little differently depending on whether you are using GNOME
or KDE, but there's some commonality between the two desktops.

For GNOME (the default desktop in Fedora Core), basically anything you
want to run at login you would just start.  Then go to Applications |
Preferences | More Preferences | Sessions.  Check 'automatically save
changes to session.'  When you logout any apps you had running will
start when you log back in.
