Kate, just out of curiosity, why would you want to change your IP address?

Have you tried to kill original client first, than do -r thingie, and than restart the client (for example, ifdown ethx; ifup ethx)?

Could you be more exact with the syntax please. I have read the man pages for dhclient, dhclientlease, etc, but I am rather lost. Surely I am not the only one who wants to refresh a dynamically assigned IP...
