Apparently I did not install gnome or kde. Will try to reinstall gnome.
The "clock window" is graphic of a clock.

Use i.e.

yum groupinstall "GNOME Desktop Environment"

this will install you all needed packages to run Gnome. See for other
options

Btw. what is a "clock window"?
