whether or not to upgrade to FC3.

FC4 seems like it will be more beneficial. RedHat finally came to an agreement with MySQL and it will have 4.17 in it I am told.
So no more rpms compiles for me! I'll be happy about that because this is an issue on several servers I take care of.

I did upgraded from FC2 to FC3 but did not like the results of an "upgrade". Mostly I did it simply to stay current.
I ended up doing a fresh install and simply copying back the config files, home directories and data files.
One thing that FC3 does is create logical volumes by default when freshly installed.
At the same time I used Disk Druid to create software raid volumes, so I now have software raid 1 on my personal server and workstation. Since then I have been so pleased with it and mdadm that I have moved a couple of clients to software raid as well.
