What is that utility called?

I think there is a utility in system settings which is called soundcard detection…that should work. I had the same problem when I first ran FC2.

Subject: FC2 - No sound!

I am new to Linux and just installed Fedora Core 2.

Every thing went fine except the sound... I do not hear any sounds...Even my sound card is detected...(I have maintained a resonable volume and nothing is muted.).

I am using an intel 845 board and the sound card detected is an AC97.

In windows I use SoundMAX drivers. But they do not distribute drivers.
Nether Intel nor HP(my pc is a HP d220MT) support Linux drivers.

Please help !!!

Thank you...
