this is likely to be a problem with udev. if you havent updated to the
latest udev release please do so to fix this
up2date -u or yum update will do all the updates.
I meant literally.
The CD-ROM is external, detachable on the Sony Z505.
Hopefully, you will find it or Sony can sell you a new one (or perhaps
there is one on eBay.)
