| I changed my inittab back to 5.  I shutdown ?r now and the system
| rebooted.  It rebooted normally it checked audio storage network
| hardware ok then it said ?configuring kernel parameters? and freezes.
| The only thing I can do at that point is power down the machine.

Hi there,
I have a problem similar to yours though with an S3 video card.  Please
look at my mail under subject <FC3 - wrong screes resolution - A bug?>

There is also a thread with this subject in the fedora-test-list.  I
have not been able to solve this problem yet.
