ayo.freshrpms.net supports groups in their FC2 core repository:
  http://ayo.freshrpms.net/fedora/linux/2/i386/core/

The yumgroups.xml for a "Core" repository is the comps.xml file from
installation CD 1. This is used by Anaconda for group package selection
during installation.

You can make a local Core repository using these instructions:
http://fedoranews.org/contributors/hal_canary/yum/

Then copy the comps.xml file from CD 1 to this location in your local
repository: fedora/core/2/i386/os/yumgroups.xml
