i 'd like write a french doc about how to install fedora (for themoment fc2) with the minimum installation and the make it become useful.

so i ask you what packages are needed to install gnome (minimum)?

yum groupinstall "GNOME Desktop"

You will need to use a repository which has support for package groups.

Or, alternatively, and assuming that this is purely for reference for the document you are writing and that you already have a working FC2 install complete with desktop environment that you can use, go to:

Main Desktop Menu ->
System Settings ->
Add/Remove Applications

exactly what i wanted to know thanks a lot for this !

then to the right of "GNOME Desktop" click "Details" and see the nine
"Standard Packages" required for the absolute minimal install of GNOME.

Best, Darren
