yes, some other files also come this way, they'll often end in .bin

the h gives a 'hashed' percentage readout - let's you know how far you've got 
with the process. What it really does is to let you know that rpm is actually 
_doing_ something - otherwise all you'll get is a hanging prompt until the 
process is complete.
