I have an old Toshiba Laptop Satellite 1800.

It is listed as PS183C-001PK at

I managed to install without a glitch FC2.

However, the fan seems not to work. 

How can I controll it (if possible)?

If I upgrade the BIOS will help (and to which
version)? (The one installed is 1.1 and any attempts
with >=1.3 from Toshiba website failed)

PS: I tried to install the ``Toshiba TCL Key and
Button Monitor'' from

http://sourceforge.net/projects/tclkeymon/

but it complains that tk is missing the ``Extras''
