IIRC there was an FC2 bug where you get the FC2 firewall installed even if you say you didn't want it at install time. So the problem loading the iptables kernel module may merely be that it is already in there. Have a look with lsmod for ip_tables.

You were right, ip_tables was already loaded. I used modprobe -r to remove it, then tried to run apf firewall but i still get a:


Starting APF:Unable to load iptables module (ip_tables), aborting.

error message.
