/usr/share/doc/dhclient-3.0.1rc14/dhclient.conf.sample:

send host-name "andare.fugue.com";
send dhcp-client-identifier 1:0:a0:24:ab:fb:9c;

So can't you just supersede the host-name the DHCP server gives you?
Normally that should not be a problem.
