According to what I've read, the compaq presario 2500 has a built in
ethernet 10/100 port which I assume is mapped to eth0 while your wifi is
eth1.  If that is correct and if don't use a wired ethernet connection,
disable it by going to System Settings -> Network and uncheck eth0.
