It work! Thanks for the tips on looking at dmesg. Found that codepage=
is the culprit. Just for info for those who might have the same problem,
this is my fstab entry :

/dev/sda1 /mnt/usbkey   vfat user,iocharset=utf8,umask=0,sync,quiet,exec

can mount as user and there's an icon in computer folder too!
