Solved: Radeon Mobility M6 LY 3D acceleration on FC2

It turns out that this controller doesn't have enough memory (just 16M) 
to support direct rendering at this resolution with 24bpp ... reduce 
the resolution or drop down to 16bpp and direct rendering is enabled.

There's a patch for the XFree86 radeon driver which allows direct 
rendering with low-memory radeons at 24bpp,

It probably applies to Xorg as well, but I haven't checked. If anyone 
does I'd be grateful if they'd let me know.
