My CD drive is SCSI, so I assume the emulation issue you mention isn't pertinent? In fact there are no IDE peripherals in my machine; it's all SCSI.

We can expect you did read the release notes which clearly states that
the SCSI emulation for the burning device (hdX=ide-scsi) is obsolete on
FC2?
