Fedora Users — Re: ATI Radeon 9600 Pro with FC2?

FC2 did OK with my 9600XT - it defaulted to using the VESA driver, manually selecting the Radeon 9600 driver worked, but as stated was (slow) 2d only. The ATI drivers work fine with a couple small patches applied (thankfully the Xorg and XFree ABI's haven't yet diverged) - google should turn up the appropriate patches for you.

No, and yes.

Anaconda and system-config-display do not automatically detect mine, but
it's a Radeon Mobility 9600 in an eMachines laptop. However if you
manually select the Radeon 9600 (Pro) from the list of cards, I believe
it should work just fine. (No 3D though, sorry.)
