MDK10 and a startup script

Hello ppl,
Please forgive me but I dont want to subscribe to MDK for one or two
questions.

I have installed a usb modem and now after each boot you have to run
#slmodemd --country=SA /dev/lsusb0

to activate /dev/ttySL0 which it links to /dev/lsusb0 and that is then
linked to /dev/modem

Who knows why they did it this way.Anyway.
Problem is if I create a file called modem.sh with the command in it
where to I place this file so it starts automatically when the PC
starts, and it need root access to run?
Please any help would be appreciated here!
Thanks
