It would behoove you to maybe get a dynamic DNS hostname. And
assign that to apache, assuming it's not the hostname of your
machine. That way you can connect to it via the domain name
rather than IP. 

This will entail you discovering how to get the dynamic DNS
updated as your IP address changes. There are many how-to's for
this. You can dry dyndns.org
