I'm attempting a storage as follows.
mount -t msdos /dev/sda1 /mnt/ms
you want vfat, not msdos
And most pre-formatted USB drives use partition 4, not 1 so your mount
would be "mount -t vfat /dev/sda4 /mnt/ms"
