Since it came up I felt a need to investigate the ndiswrapper further. Compiling a custom kernel 2.6.3-2-1.253 without 4KSTACK solves the problem.

I don't know, probably some redhat specific patch. They merged the fedora and RHEL3 kernel after 2.6.3-1.118.
