what matters is if it has a feature set that meets your needs.
just counting up raw numbers of APIs doesn't really accomplish
all that much.

there are three serious open source databases out there -- MySQL,
PostgreSQL, and Firebird. people will be serving themselves the
best if they do a proper evaluation of all three. each has strong points
and weak points, and things it does the best of the bunch.
