You want /updates/1/i386/RPMS > when you say home folder you mean /home/ and not the /home/ > (yourusername) ? The home directory is (in my case) /home/paul - I would imagine yours to be /home/brittany. Normally, you can only download to your home directory as you won't have permissions (as you, not as su) to go anywhere else.
