I have a webcam on /dev/video0 (aka /dev/video) 'cause I modprobe
ov511 at boot time, so that when I use the TV capture card it becomes /
dev/video1.
When I was still running xawtv, I called out the specific device...
loading the webcam at boot time means I always know which device is
which.
Nowdays I run tvtime (which rocks). There's also another app for
JUST watching your webcam...camorama, I believe? (Check with Synaptic).
Very simple, solid, and nice.
