I doubt this will have anything to do with the problem but I'm curious
as to the syntax of your ZEROCONF parameter.  I have only seen the
syntax:

NOZEROCONF=yes

Aha! I have been looking for a way to disable this, and for some reason had not found it yet. My ZEROCONF parameter was mostly a test, and of course it did not work as I desired since the zeroconf route was still there. I'll try yours. :-)
