don't know what dameware is, but I installed cygwin on my windoze boxen, 
and the OpenSSH server, set up keys and install openssh-client on the 
Linux box and you can ssh into the windows systems, start/stop services, 
start processes, pretty much anything a graphical remote like vnc could 
do. Works For Me.
