This is encoding stuff. Take a look at your files - see what encoding
they are. And set the server accordingly. Ie. You're writing files on
windows, set your server to make default codepage to be iso-8859-1...

And always, always, prefer using html accented chars (like à
instead of à), and specifying the codepage on every html file you write.
