Why not just using software RAID offered by Linux? Don't expect much by
such "faked" RAID functionality coming from onboard controllers. They
are just BIOS implementations and all the work is done by CPU either.
See the longer thread about that topic I think two days ago here on the
list. You may safe a lot of trouble and even poor performance.
