NIS Login -> problems with user rights

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello everybody,

I have a SuSE 9.0 Server running a NIS Server which works perfectly
fine. There is a problem though with a Fedora Core 1 Client. The NIS
Login succeeds but sound isn't running for user foo when he tries to
login from the Fedora box (using KDE):

Sound server fatal error:
/tmp/mcop-foo is not owned by user

What do I have to change in order to void this? Local users on the
Fedora box don't have this problem.

What groups do Fedora users have to be in in order to have access to
sound? I guess these groups are different to SuSE maybe. Could it be
that I need exactly those groups on the NIS Server?

thanks in advance,
Tobias W.
