My hard drive, hdc (it's a Dell, don't ask) has a vfat parition, hdc3. I recently reinstalled my linux, and it doesn't detect it. I tried adding a line to my fstab that looked some thing like: /dev/hdc3 /share vfat defaults,users,noauto,rw 0 0. I can then mount the partition as root, until I reboot. Then the line magically disappears.
