I suggest everyone stop taking the most difficult, and dangerous route. Read my post in this thread, use the official yum repository provided by mozilla.org, and use either 'yum upgrade mozilla' or 'up2date -u mozilla'.

The mozilla rpm from mozilla.org can be used to UPGRADE mozilla 1.4, and yum or up2date can resolve all the deps for you.

BTW, instead of erase existing mozilla, you could just as well done 'rpm -Fvh mozilla...x..rpm' . There will be complaints about other mozilla components, just add the relevent newer rpms to the one command...

Cheers,
Michael
